U.S. fashion label Michael Kors is continuing its efforts to stop world hunger with a host of initiatives in honor of World Food Day on Oct. 16.

In July, the label celebrated 5 million meals served through its partnership with the United Nations’ World Food Programme. Now, Michael Kors is working to spur additional donations with a limited-edition timepiece.

As part of its month-long “Watch Hunger Stop” effort, and in addition to the limited-edition watch launch, Michael Kors will premiere a National Geographic video featuring actress Halle Berry on a trip to Nicaragua for Watch Hunger Stop and host a United Nations World Food Programme field-visit sweepstakes to see the improvements made by the initiative’s school meals program.

Also, Michael Kors will have an in-store t-shirt give away on Oct. 16.

Michael Kors began its partnership with the United Nations in 2013 (see story) and soon after tapped Ms. Berry as an ambassador for the cause (see story).

For 2014, Michael Kors has designed a limited-edition 100 Series watch specifically for Watch Hunger Stop. The timepiece features a rose-gold stainless steel case and strap with a grey-blue detailed map of the world etched on the dial.

Michael Kors’ signature is engraved on the back along with the campaign’s name and limited-edition. Also, the caseback will have the message “1 watch = 100 meals.” The limited-edition mid- and oversized unisex watches will be available only in Michael Kors boutiques and online and will retail, beginning in October, for $295.
