Trump Hotel Collection announced its plans to open a 33-floor hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, by June 2015.
The Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku will host 189 hotel rooms and 72 residences in the Nasimi District of the city. The sailboat shaped hotel will likely draw Trump Hotel Collection loyalists to this Middle Eastern city.
Middle Eastern dream
Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku sits on 215,278 square feet of land on the Caspian Sea. The architecture of the building creates an image of a large sail on the sea.
The exterior is full of metallic bronze panels, glass openings and private terraces.

All 72 residential options will be available on a long-term lease basis and range from 904 to 9,579 square feet. There is a private drive and residential lobby.
The more commercial areas are for both guests and residents. These include the pool, spa, fitness center, business center and the retail and restaurant options.
In a branded statement, Donald J. Trump, chairman and president of The Trump Organization, said, “Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku represents the unwavering standard of excellence of The Trump Organization and our involvement in only the best global development projects. When we open in 2015, visitors and residents will experience a luxurious property unlike anything else in Baku -- it will be among the finest in the world."
Other hotel brands have decided to open more locations in the Middle East.
For example, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts is now taking reservations for its first United Arab Emirates property in Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.
The property’s opening, with arrivals beginning in December, is part of Four Seasons’ expansion plan further into the Arabian Gulf area. In addition to its property in Doha, Qatar, the hotelier plans to extend its regional offerings with properties in Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and locations in Abu Dhabi and a second Doha hotel (see story).
