United Arab Emirates airline Etihad Airways is partnering with Major League Soccer franchise, New York City Football Club for its upcoming season.
The partnership was kicked off with a cocktail party celebrating both the airline and the soccer team. The collaboration will likely align both Etihad Airways and New York City Football Club with the standards and goals of one another.

The parent club of New York City Football Club is Manchester City, another soccer team that has Etihad Airways as a sponsor as well.
On Nov. 13, the jerseys were revealed showing the light blue color with Eithad Airways printed on across the chest.

This partnership is a five-year deal that will present the airline as a founding partner of the team. Etihad will be part of the team’s playing kits, have a presence on game days at Yankee Stadium, the team’s home, and on digital platforms for New York City Football Club.
The airline seems to be looking to increase its presence and services.
For instance, Etihad Airways sent a team of butlers to a multi-week training program in preparation for the launch of The Residence by Etihad.
At the Savoy Butler Academy in London, the service members will refine their skills and knowledge to meet the discerning demands of The Residence’s clients. Service is oftentimes the differentiating factor among hospitality brands and guaranteeing the ability of all team members reduces the likelihood of mishaps that harm reputation (see story).
