British online menswear retailer Mr Porter is kicking off its promotions of the feature film “Kingsman” with a Q&A session on Google+ hangout.

Mr Porter's involvement with Kingsman will include a microsite, a curated apparel collection and exclusive interviews with the cast of the film. Sister site Net-A-Porter has often teamed with popular movies, such as The Hunger Games franchise, for limited-edition capsule collections that drive fans to its ecommerce site and garner buzz for the designers it carries.

Released in February 2015, Kingsman is a British action-spy film directed by Matthew Vaughn and based off The Secret Service comic book series. The film stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine and Taron Egerton.

The live Google+ hangout, scheduled for Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m. GMT, will allow consumers to ask questions of Mr Porter’s buying director Toby Bateman and Kingsman’s costume director Arianne Phillips. Additional dial-in guests will include the associate editor of Fashion Beans William Oliver and photographer and menswear expert, Chris John Millington.

Consumers can RSVP for the live Q&A on Google+ hangout here.

Other brands have used Google+ Hangout to introduce a new collection and interact with consumers.

For instance, jeweler Tiffany & Co. furthered its efforts for the Tiffany T collection with a Google+ hangout.

On Oct. 21 at 12 p.m. EST, Tiffany design director Francesca Amfitheatrof, Elle magazine’s Anne Slowey, model Coco Rocha and blogger Aimee Song were on hand to answer consumers’ questions. Generating this consumer interaction around the new collection likely helped to promote the new line (see story).
