German automaker Audi is focusing on its veterans career program at the DC Auto Show’s Military Tribute Day.

Audi’s veterans program has hired 162 former military technicians to work at Audi dealerships across the United States. The success of the program thus far has led the brand to sponsor Military Tribute Day at the auto show and showcase to other brands a successful option for employing veterans.

Salute to veterans
Previously, Audi of America helped those who served in the U.S. military by launching a program for skilled technicians to work in its dealerships.

The new “Veterans to Technicians” program aids veterans in finding employment and allows the German automaker to maintain its high quality of craftsmanship. Since Audi is looking to break its record sales in the U.S. this year, the automaker is looking for the best employees to help get it there (see story).

Veterans to Technicians is in 255 of the 283 Audi dealerships in America. Eligible veterans must have certain levels of automotive or aviation mechanical experience and clean personal records, including driving history.

At the DC Auto Show, Audi veterans and other employees will be present at booths off of the main lobby at the convention center and near the Metro entrance to answer any questions about the program.
