Italian fashion label Dolce & Gabbana is welcoming spring with an exclusive collection only available in Japanese boutiques.

The print, “Fiori di Primavera” is the first collection by Dolce & Gabbana to be created specifically for Japanese consumers. Despite Japan’s economic troubles, luxury brands have focused significant attention to the Asian country in recent months (see story).

Blossoming in Japan
Dolce & Gabbana’s Fiori di Primavera print, which translates to mean “spring flowers,” was created to celebrate spring 2015’s full-bloom.

The print is described as “giving the impression of a fragrant garden surrounded by blooming flowers.”

Fiori di Primavera will only be available in six Dolce & Gabbana boutiques around the country beginning on April 18. These include shops in Ginza, Omotesando, Sakae, Midosuji and Umeda as well as Dolce & Gabbana’s section at department store Isetan Shinjuku.

The collection includes a number of dresses in different styles and hemlines, printed scarves, matching shoes, handbags and tech accessories.

Japan’s relationship to springtime, especially cherry blossoms, extends to the United States’ hospitality industry.

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington celebrates a gift from Japan to the U.S. more than 100 years ago and serves as the unofficial start of spring in the region.

The Japanese and springtime ties provide an opportunity for luxury hotels to celebrate with special events and packages. Local festivals offer the perfect excuse for hotels to reflect positively upon their neighborhoods and connect with both locals and visitors (see story).
