Helicopter charter brand Gotham Air is gearing up for summer with the introduction of weekend getaways to attractive destinations on the East Coast.
The weekend getaways and daily commuter destination routes will launch on Thursday, May 21 to kick off Memorial Day weekend, but Gotham Air is allowing reservations to be made in advance as of today. With flights leaving out of New York, consumers who book with Gotham Air will have the convenience of avoiding summer traffic to their preferred destination.
Summer is in the air
Gotham Air’s expansion will charter helicopter flights from New York’s Manhattan island to The Hamptons (Southampton, East Hampton and Montauk), New Jersey (Morristown, Atlantic City, Belmar/Wall) and Massachusetts (Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Provincetown). Commuter charters have also been expanded to serve those who live or work in Washington or New York’s Westchester County.
Summer flights will introduce Gotham Air’s new fleet of Bell 407GX helicopters operated by Helicopter Flight Services. These helicopters are equipped with advanced noise reduction technology to ensure the charters do not disrupt the “peaceful tranquility of the beach towns they will soon serve.”

Using Gotham Air’s crowdsourced helicopter application, consumers have the opportunity to hop on a pre-existing flight with available seats. If the timings available are not convenient, the guest can start their own time.
All charters must have a minimum of four passengers on each flight. If the number is not met the consumer is refunded their ticket and the flight is cancelled. Flights depart from Pier 6 on the East River in New York (see story).
Flights for destinations in New York’s East End begin at $525, while charters to the Jersey Shore start at $145. Helicopters flying to Massachusetts begin at a price point of $1,049. Commuter flights to Westchester County begin at $188 while charters to Washington start at $1,149.
