Swiss watchmaker Hublot is expanding its presence in the Middle East with a new brand representative that will appeal to Arab consumers.

At a special event in Beirut on June 5 Hublot announced that Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama will be its latest brand ambassador, continuing the brand’s efforts in the Middle East. Selecting representatives from different regions around the world ensures that Hublot will appeal to a wide range of consumers and maintain its status as an international luxury brand.

Mr. Alama is a logical choice as Hublot’s brand representative because of his passion for watches and the luxury industry. His success in the music business aligns with Hublot’s values for perseverance and dedication.

Mr. Alama was born and raised in Beirut, breaking into entertainment when he appeared on a television talent show in the 1980s. Since then he has released many chart-topping albums and worked with other international pop artists.

Hublot’s current brand ambassadors include a wide range of professions from different industries. Basketball players Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade represent the brand, along with model Bar Refaeli and golfer Justin Rose. Adding Mr. Alama to the group will further Hublot’s reputation in the Middle East and the music industry.

Hublot frequently chooses ambassadors that will attract consumers’ attention and promote the brand in a unique way. For example, the Swiss watchmaker recently enjoyed a publicity spree after the brand’s latest ambassador won “The Fight of the Century” in Las Vegas on May 2.

Floyd “Money” Mayweather wore the Hublot name on his boxing shorts in the ring when he won the eagerly anticipated fight against his opponent Manny Pacquiao. The fight made over $300 million dollars and was extensively advertised on social media, making Hublot’s sponsorship of Mayweather highly lucrative (see story).
