Let's get it percolating
Four dates in December, guests at the Four Seasons Orlando can learn from the baristas at Lickety Split, an innovator among Central Florida coffee shops. The shop features techniques and equipment that are unique to Orlando, furthering the guests’ experience during the class and while grabbing a cup of joe.

The two-hour Barista Bootcamp will give coffee lovers the skills needed to enhance their brewing know-how by learning to prepare a signature cup of coffee rich in flavor and with an artful presentation. The course will be taught by coffee connoisseur and manager of Lickety Split, Allison Burkard.

Ms. Burkard is well-versed in all things coffee and honed her skills in Seattle at the headquarters for the Caffe Umbria coffee roasting company. Lickety Split continues Ms. Burkard’s relationship with Caffe Umbria by serving the roaster’s six different blends prepared using four different brew styles.

The Barista Bootcamp course begins with Ms. Burkard teaching guests to prepare Lickety Split’s signature cold brew coffee. Guests will also be taught to make the perfect single drip coffee and two different coffee cocktails for holiday entertaining, how to master pouring techniques and seasonally-appropriate skills from holiday latte art in the shape of Christmas trees and snowmen to “designer coffees” with fun accents such as a peppermint swizzle sticks.
