Fondazione Furla's Web site for Furla Series' Time after Time, Space after Space
Italian accessories maker Furla is exploring “Time after Time, Space after Space” in a new performance series at the Museo del Novecento in Milan.
From September 2017 to May 2018, the Fondazione Furla and the Museo del Novecento will program a calendar of performance events at the museum’s Sala Fontana. Furla counts itself among the Italian heritage brands that advocate for the arts throughout the year through its foundation’s supporting initiatives and events.
Key figures to perform
Time after Time, Space after Space will bring to life the works of artists, dancers and performers such as Alexandra Bachzetsis, Simone Forti, Adelita Husni-Bey, Christian Marclay and Paulina Olowska. The series will reinterpret space through new pieces or reenactments of milestone performances from their careers.
Unveiled at bimonthly intervals, Time after Time, Space after Space will present five solo projects. Each project will feature artists of different generations and backgrounds for a sense of complex experimentation.
Time after Time, Space after Space’s first installment will celebrate the 50th anniversary of artist Lucio Fontana’s death by a performance “lit” by his “Struttura al Neon per la IX Triennale di Milano (1951),” a sculpture made of neon lights.

The Furla Series will be accompanied by a bilingual catalog and public program to welcome a broader audience. Furla Series’ public program, a fundamental aspect of the project, will include talks, lectures, round tables, workshops, seminars, concerts and guided tours.
Co-produced by the Museo del Novecento, Time after Time, Space after Space is the first edition of Furla Series, launched by the brand earlier this year (see story).
Furla intends to organize the leading Italian and international artists to collaborate with Italian art institutions. Its collaboration with Museo del Novecento offers an opportunity to bring together past, present and future talent to generate a dialogue between 20th century masters and key figures of today’s art scene.
