French apparel and accessories maker Louis Vuitton is generating buzz around its recently opened Fondation Louis Vuitton with a charitable concert series.
Louis Vuitton has invited hip-hop artist Kanye West to perform this weekend at its Frank Gehry-designed Fondation Louis Vuitton space in Paris. The concerts, scheduled nightly from March 7-10, fit with the conclusion of Paris Fashion Week.
The luxurious Mr. West
Mr. West and his wife, reality socialite Kim Kardashian, have been spotted at runway presentations throughout fashion month. During the month of fashion shows, Mr. West also debuted his own line of clothing with athletic brand Adidas at New York Fashion Week, as he transitions from rapper to fashion designer.
On March 6, Ms. Kardashian shared an image of her and Mr. West outside the Fondation Louis Vuitton on Instagram with a caption that read “stay tuned…” hinting at an upcoming collaboration.

Later in the day news broke that Mr. West will hold concerts at the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s auditorium over the weekend. In addition to the concert, ticket holders will be able to view a film by British director Steve McQueen and a gallery featuring the work of photographer Jackie Nickerson.
Tickets to the exclusive event are surprisingly attainable with a price of approximately $109. Proceeds from the four-night event will be donated to a charity that has yet to be named as of press time.
Mr. West is no stranger to Louis Vuitton. In 2013, the notoriously outspoken rapper asked fans to boycott the French brand in response to LVMH chairman/CEO Bernard Arnault refusing a meeting with Mr. West to discuss his fashion designs.
As Mr. West looks to amend his past with LVMH in general, he has also been supportive of the LVMH Prize (see story). A personal friend of Mr. West, designer Virgil Abloh, is said to be on the prize’s shortlist, according to reports.
