On Jan. 21 nearly 850 guests attended an event held at private aviator Jet Aviation’s hub at Florida’s Palm Beach International Airport to benefit the local chapters of the Boys & Girls Club.

The annual La Bella Macchina event was the “ultimate evening in speed and technology” featuring 7 planes, 2 helicopters, 1 boat and more than 60 limited-edition and one-of-a-kind Ferrari models on display. The rarity and decadence of the aircrafts and automobiles on display has led the event to swell in popularity over the past several years with 1,500 attendees for the 2015 event, but this year’s guest list was limited creating a more intimate and exclusive atmosphere (see story).

Giving back

During the event, some of the most recognizable names in aviation showcased business-aircraft models on the Jet Aviation tarmac. These aircrafts included the Gulfstream G280 and G450, Dassault Falcon 2000S, Embraer Legacy 500 and Lineage 1000, Pilatus PC-12NG, Airbus Helicopters H125 and a Bell 430.

Guests were also able to witness the presentation of the Jet Aviation Cup. This year’s Jet Aviation Cup was awarded to Charles Benz and Fred Peters for their 1959 Ferrari 250 GT “Tour de France” model.

The event was held to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. A silent auction and rousing live auction raised a grand total of $46,605 in proceeds for the charitable organization, including a three-day tennis excursion to Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Cup priced at $20,000.

In addition to the donations raised for the charity, Jet Aviation held an aviation career seminar and tour for more than 60 children with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. The workshop aimed to educate the children about the importance of business aviation and various career opportunities within the sector.

Jet Aviation’s La Bella Macchina event was also sponsored by Gulfstream, Embraer, Exclusive, Dassault Falcon, PNC Aviation Services, PNC Bank, JetEffect, Pilatus, Epps Aviation, Airbus Helicopters, World Fuel, Phillips 66, Tamara Comolli, Universal Weather, The Fur Salon at Saks Fifth Avenue, Iguana Yachts, Heliflite, Business Jet Traveler, Banfi and Perfect Vodka.
