As part of its ongoing centennial celebrations, Italian automaker Maserati is gearing up to highlight its past, present and future during Monterey Car Week Aug. 11-17 in California.

During Monterey Car Week, Maserati will be the featured marque at both the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Due to the high concentration of automotive enthusiasts in attendance at both events, this will be the ideal stage for Maserati to unveil its latest design concept, the Alfieri coupe.

In addition to showing off its Alfieri concept design, Maserati plans to celebrate 100 years of engineering by displaying its full range of models including the Quattroporte, Ghibli and the GranTurismo Centennial Edition MC.

For the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Aug.14-17 held at Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca, CA, Maserati will premiere the Alfieri 2+2 concept for the first time in North America.

At the Reunion, Maserati will also honor Sir Stirling Moss, who won the Italian and Monaco Grand Prix in 1956. When Sir Stirling won both Grand Prix, he was driving a Maserati 250F. Maserati will also share with attendees classic Maserati models such as the 1959 Tipo 60 “Birdcage” and the only surviving Tipo 151, which has competed in three successive Goodwood Revivals as well as the 2013 Le Mans Legend.

On Aug. 17, Maserati will join in the festivities for the 60th annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as featured marquee where the automaker will display an array of classic models on the main fairway. Maserati will also display the Alfieri prototype on the Concept Lawn.

Other automakers have announced plans to unveil concept models at Pebble Beach as well.

For instance, British automaker McLaren will unveil its new concept model at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California Aug. 16.

McLaren’s latest model, the P1 GTR concept design, will make its world debut at the once a year event, held on the third Sunday of every August, where approximately 200 of the most prized collector cars will be on display. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is considered to be one of the most competitive events in the auto industry (see story).

Automotive enthusiasts will be able to enjoy images from Monterey Car Week, as well as Maserati’s anniversary celebrations, on a dedicated Web site. Following updates will include a recap of the International Maserati Centennial Gathering in Italy Sept. 18-20 (see story).
