Swiss watchmaker Breitling is surprising consumers in New York with a unique appearance by the Breitling Jet Team in Times Square.
On June 8 the team will be parking their full-size L-39 Albatross jet in the middle of Times Square to attract attention and garner excitement for their first North American tour, which is taking place this year. Unusual spectacles that catch consumers’ attention and spur curiosity are a good way to introduce a brand to a new location and promote its exciting events.
Center of attention
The Breitling Jet Team and the full-size L-39 Albatross jet will be in Times Square from 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., giving plenty of time for fans around the city to visit the event. Visitors will have the opportunity to post for photos next to the large aircraft as well as meet some of the team members themselves.
The Jet Team flew over New York City before the appearance in Times Square
The appearance in Times Square is designed to highlight other events that Breitling is currently promoting. The Swiss watchmaker is sharing its skills with United States consumers by taking the Breitling Jet Team to the U.S. for the first time as part of its 2015 North American Tour.
Breitling's team recently completed its first performance in the U.S. at the Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-In & Expowith in Lakeland, Florida, where they showed off a number of impressive feats. Expanding promotions such as the Breitling Jet Team internationally can ensure that a brand remains relevant in today’s global economy (see story).
Taking the team and the jet itself to New York will likely help Breitling gain more publicity among this international audience.
