While other fashion weeks’ schedules are up in the air due to bans on large gatherings, Denmark’s quick return to normality has enabled Copenhagen Fashion Week’s dates to move only a few days from the original time frame.
The Copenhagen Fashion Week for spring/summer 2021 will now be held Aug. 9-12 instead of Aug. 4-7. The decision was made by Copenhagen Fashion Week in collaboration with trade fairs CIFF and Revolver, and industry organizations Dansk Fashion & Textile (DM&T) and Wear.
"We're fortunate that the Danish society is opening up much more quickly than expected, making it possible for us to hold Copenhagen Fashion Week very close to the originally scheduled dates,” said Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week, in a statement.
“All of our activities will of course be set up to meet applicable regulatory requirements," she said.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is the most important date in the Scandinavian fashion calendar.

Since the COVID-19 lockdown of Denmark, the five organizations closely monitoring developments in society and the fashion business, weighing various options available for the upcoming fashion week.
Several dates were discussed. The chosen dates were based on factors such as participant health safety and keeping in mind the best interests of Danish fashion.
"We've received immense support from the Scandinavian fashion industry, as Copenhagen Fashion Week continues to be an important and much-needed platform for the industry's sales, exports and international collaborations,” Ms. Thorsmark said.
“Maintaining the dates in the beginning of August is a decisive advantage for them, which is why we're very pleased to announce the new dates," she said.
