Appliance maker Jenn-Air is celebrating its ties to the culinary world with an event featuring the Food Network’s Anne Burrell.

Jenn-Air is producing the event in its New York showroom for the Parents, Friends and Family of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). By partnering with a nonprofit, Jenn-Air will be able to show its care for the community, boosting its corporate social outreach.

There will be a silent auction of food and wine items, and Jenn-Air is providing gift bags for attendees.

PFLAG used its Web site and social media to tell its 200,000 members about Jenn-Air’s involvement.

Other interior brands have aligned themselves with a cause to show their interest in their communities.

During Architectural Digest’s Home Design Show, a number of brands took the opportunity to align themselves with a cause.

Barneys New York, Roche Bobois, Ralph Lauren Home, Diane von Furstenberg and Calvin Klein participated in Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS’ Dining By Design event, for which they each created a design installation. For these brands, this event balances philanthropy with the opportunity to have an artistic display at a large home interior show (see story).

This is a cause that Jenn-Air supports more than one night, lending more authenticity to the alignment. During Pride Month, Jenn-Air also took the opportunity to let consumers know of its longstanding perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign, which also works to secure equal rights for LGBT individuals.
